Arida Jacket
Embellished with ‘khneng’ embroidery, the unique and only known form of embroidery in Meghalaya. It is one of the oldest and dying art forms practiced by the people of Mustoh village. The motifs used in this jacket portray the khasi hills of Meghalaya inspired from the folktale of ‘U sier lapalang’. To enhance the texture, intricate hand woven detailing was used on the collar of the jacket. The model is 5'6" and is wearing size S.
Made in Eri silk, naturally dyed with lac and turmeric.
This piece is handcrafted in small batches using natural dyes. Variations in colour, texture, print and finish are inherent to the process, making each piece unique
