Halari Coat
Inspired by a Khasi folktale “u sier lapalang” the design on this coat aims to bring the story of this folktale by using hand woven motifs that portrays the journey of “U sier lapalang” (a stag) to the hills. At the bottom of the coat weft inserts are used to portray the plains of Bangla and how Sier lapalang left the plains of Bangla and climbed the Khasi hills in search of the delicious vegetation that grows on the hills where he was killed. The hand woven motifs of a stag, the trees and the khasi hills were used on this coat. The model is 5'6" and is wearing size S.
